Johns Creek was originally built by a number of Georgia Tech graduates who wanted to build an office park and has since grown into a thriving community. Now it’s one of the best places to live in Georgia, with top-notch schools, a highly-ranked hospital, and numerous large corporations providing jobs to the community. The area is full of golf courses, sports facilities, and green space for hiking, allowing anyone to easily maintain an active lifestyle.

The city is also home to a number of restaurants providing cuisine from all over the world, an endless variety of shops, both big chains, and small locally-owned options, and every type of entertainment you could imagine, including the symphony and the ballet. It’s also close enough to Atlanta that residents find it easy to get into the city on nearly any of the major roads.

Johns Creek is an affluent city outside Atlanta with plenty of shopping, restaurants, and activities. Home to a number of major companies, the area has a thriving economy, has residents from all over the world, and is known to be exceedingly family-friendly. While it is considered a city, it’s relatively quiet and peaceful, and newcomers generally find it easy to make friends and settle into the community.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Johns Creek is close to three major shopping centers. The Forum on Peachtree Parkway and Avalon feature excellent locally owned restaurants and outdoor storefronts to include Crate & Barrel, Chanel, Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, and lululemon. In contrast, North Point Mall is an indoor mall that features over 100 stores, from Armani Iman to Windsor

Johns Creek is home to restaurants serving cuisine from nearly every culture. El Porton offers top-notch Mexican food bursting with flavor while Le Mekong brings Vietnamese food to the South. Head to breakfast at the Hen Mother Cookhouse, where you’ll find favorites like brioche french toast and eggs and hash. Finish your meal with dessert at the Creek, where you’ll find an assortment of rich, creamy gelato.

Things to Do

Johns Creek is home to a number of activities. Many residents enjoy membership at The Country Club of the South, St. Ives Country Club, Atlanta Athletic Club, and love the numerous amenities, from tennis courts, tennis teams ALTA (Atlanta Lawn Tennis Assocation) to the stunning golf course. The Clubs are also the site of numerous special events throughout the year. 

Spend an evening at the orchestra — Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra is comprised of the most talented musicians in the Atlanta Metro area and is know for their amazing concerts. For visual arts, visit the Johns Creek Art Center, where you can wander through ever-changing exhibits with pieces from local artists or take a class to work on your own creative skills.

For families with a furry member, the Newtown Dream Dog Park is the hotspot you should know about. The one-acre space lets dogs play safely off-leash while enjoying some agility equipment and sprinklers and making new friends.
